The Burns Technology Center is a leader in creating and delivering premier opportunities for learning to Montana State University and a global spectrum of communities. Through the use of untraditional means, such as continuing education courses, online learning tools, technology and telecommunications, we develop unique educational programs.

We believe that exploring new ideas and methods is crucial to enriching education and improving people’s quality of life. By utilizing technology, mobilizing resources and forging partnerships, we help people take advantage of the learning opportunities that change makes possible.

We focus our efforts in three primary areas:

• Offering courses, degrees and learning opportunities that would not otherwise be available
• Exploring new resources for learning through pilot and demostration projects
• Facilitating the use of technology in teaching and learning through our capabilities and services

The BTC is a multi-purpose research and delivery center of Montana State University - Bozeman. The BTC is largely funded by fees for service, grants and contracts, and private donations.
