Join owner Mary Jane DiSanti for a brief history of the Country Bookshelf from its beginnings in 1957 to its current location and ranking as Montana’s largest independent bookstore. With over 70,000 titles to choose from, the Bookshelf caters to readers of all ages and is a cherished landmark on Bozeman’s thriving downtown scene. How do I become a member?

Instructor(s): Mary Jane DiSanti. Mary Jane DiSanti was born in Bozeman in 1949. She attended school in Bozeman and Belgrade, graduating from MSU in 1972. She began working at the Country Bookshelf in 1973 for Margarite Kirk and bought the store in 1974. The business moved downtown in 1986.
