Course Description: Find out about the possibilities for learning and exploration during each of the varied seasons of Yellowstone—from bluebirds and grizzlies in the spring, wild flowers in the summer, raptors and elk in the fall, and predator/prey interactions in the winter. An expert naturalist from the Yellowstone Association Institute will present a natural history calendar with facts, stories and photographs. He will describe opportunities for visiting and learning about the park year-round.

Instructor(s): MacNeil Lyons, PhD. MacNeil Lyons is an experienced National Park Service ranger and educator. He has served at the Blue Ridge Parkway, Point Reyes National Seashore, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and Yellowstone National Park. He currently is a Resident Instructor for the Yellowstone Association Institute’s award-winning Yellowstone for Families program and teaches natural history in the park. MacNeil is also a published writer and photographer.
