Course Description: We will investigate the lives and creative work of four prolific and influential composers. Dr. Lee will demonstrate musical examples on the piano and will present multi-media lectures, including PowerPoint notes, DVD’s, and significant audio recordings of the works to be discussed.
Class format:
Lecture with piano accompaniment and multimedia presentations.

Instructor(s): Ilse Mari Lee . Lee is a Professor of Music at Montana State University. Ilse Mari Lee has been praised by her students for the imaginative and engaging way in which she teaches musical history ranging from classics to rock and roll, from the theory of music to its relation to social and historical phenomena. She is also widely known as an outstanding composer and cellist.
Prerequisites: No special background needed.
