Course Description: We will discover just a few of the ways WW2 has affected each of our lives. Through a blend of reading, presentations, film clips, surveys and discussion, this lively, informal class is designed for enhanced historical awareness and the recording of personal reminiscences for the larger historical record and for our immediate descendents. Class members are welcome to write their own WW2 memoirs, and we will combine the ones to be shared into a small in-class publication as a legacy to our own descendents. Class Format and Reading:
The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw. Some on-line or library articles. Some guest presenters. Lecture and discussion.
Meeting Place and Times: Wednesdays, November 4 to December 9 (six classes) 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Museum of the Rockies
Instructor(s): David Swingle. has a 45-year dual career in public secondary and higher education, and in museum education. He specialized in developing programs for "at-risk" youth at the Bridger Program at Bozeman High.
