Course Description: Need a kick-start to establish some discipline and refine your skills as a writer? Join author Alan Kesselheim in a writing workshop designed to help you get started and build the momentum to keep going. Over the ’09-’10 school year, the class will meet to discuss readings, share work and hone specific skills essential to the craft of writing strong prose. During fall, the group meets five times to concentrate on techniques, work habits, and discussion. Another five sessions begin in January 2010, when the focus shifts to critiquing each other’s writing and working through the obstacles that hinder the writing process (Watch for Wonderlust’s Winter/Spring course catalog for dates and registration information). By the end of the class, you’ll be ready to continue on your own, or, perhaps, to create an ongoing writer’s group out of the class participants. Class limit – 10 participants
