Course Description: This class provides an overview of materials for educational, informational, and literary applications by prospective school library media specialists who work with children and young adults. The course will cover principles for critical evaluation and analysis as well as motivational techniques and selection. Course can help lead to a certificate in School Library Media from Montana State University.

Instructors: Janis Bruwelheide, Nora Martin

Cost: Tuition is $675. This should be paid to the Burns Technology Center at Montana State University at the time of registration.

Credit: 3 graduate semester credits

Prerequisites: EDCI 320 (Foundations of Instructional Computing) or equivalent basic computer class; graduate standing.

Time Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per week over 11 weeks. If you are unfamiliar with this field of study and/or with telecommunications, this course may require more of your time.

Target Audience: This course is required for those pursuing K-12 Library Media Certification. School library media specialists who want continuing education credit may also enroll.

Materials: Course materials are furnished within the class environment.
