The Assignment Dropbox allows your instructor to create and distribute course assignments to students, download student submissions, evaluate, and assign a grade to the completed work. Once graded, you can click on the "graded" link to view your graded file and/or look at your numerical grade and general feedback from your instructor.
To upload and submit completed assignment files, and check graded work and comments students must follow the procedure below.
Students can use Assignments
only after the Assignment tool is posted to the course.
Usually, you will find Assignments
linked on the homepage and/or on the Course Menu.

Find the link to the assignment
dropbox in your course and click on it.
Note: Icons and the title
of the assignment dropbox may vary depending upon the course.
The Assignments screen appears.
Click the hyperlinked name
of the assignment you want to view (the link has a small pencil icon beside
it). If the pencil icon does not appear next to the assignment, the assignment
may be locked or unavailable to you. See the availability dates for the
assignment.
Select the hotlink next to the pencil icon (in this case, you would select "Practice 1").
The Assignment Instruction screen appears.
This screen displays the due
date for the assignment, instructions for the completion of the assignment,
and its maximum grade.
The Assignment Instructions
screen also lists assignment-related files, if available.
Compose your response according to the Assignment Instructions.
Use your own software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or any other application as required) to complete assignments according to what the instructor requires. Most instructors require specific filetypes and/or filenames for submitted assignments. WebCT will not recognize filenames with spaces or containing characters that are not numbers or letters. Be sure that your files are virus-free. Save the file to your disk or computer.
Mac users: It will be necessary to include the extension at the end of the file names you create. For example, if submitting an assignment created in Microsoft Word, you will have to type the ".doc" extension onto the end of your file name.
