Important information regarding
the first time you log in to MSU's WebCT Campus Edition
4.1 (WebCT CE 4.1) server

1) The Entry Page (or Log in Page) looks
like this:
Links on the Entry page are not initially underlined. When you hover the cursor
over the text the underline will appear and the cursor will turn into the hotlink
hand-- try it.
Aside from the "Log in" link, there are two very important student related
links on this page:
- The "Check Browser" link at the top right of the page - use this
to verify that you have a valid browser for use with WebCT 4.1. Some older
browsers, including Netscape, do not work properly with WebCT CE 4.1

The "Student Quick Resource Guide" - please give this a quick reading
to make sure you have addressed the most important issues with using WebCT.
2) When you click on the "Log
in to myWebCT" link:
You'll be taken to the following login screen:
Enter your WebCT ID and Password, and click the "Log in" button.
NOTE: If this is your very first visit to the WebCT CE 4.1 server,
see step 3 below for password information.
3) If this is your first visit to the WebCT
CE 4.1 server:
- When your MSU WebCT account is created, your WebCT ID is the same
as your password. For example if your WebCT ID is smithj1234,
you would also enter smithj1234 as your password.

Also, after entering your WebCT ID and password for the first time
you will be prompted to change your password immediately, as shown
below:
Enter the password you just logged in with, then enter your new one,
and then the new one again for confirmation.
You may change your password to whatever you like, as many times as
you like - as long as you can remember what it is! To change your password
again, simply click on the "Password Settings" button on the top of your
myWebCT screen.
