A system is an object or group of objects which you are examining. For example, in figure skating the system is the whole skater including the skater's boots. In other sports such as skiing, the system is the skier plus the skis and poles. Often, you may be interested only in describing a particular aspect of a movement. For example, if you were interested in the explosive leg extension during the take-off of the ski jump, the system would just be the lower limbs of the ski jumper.
